Over the past 10 years I have been involved with Development Associates International’s (DAI) in their MA in Organizational Leadership program. In 2017 I facilitated the course Spiritual Formation in India. The following year I taught the same course in Myanmar. Both were great experiences. This time I will be facilitating the course Women in Leadership and Ministry in Uganda in partnership with Uganda Christian University. I will be facilitating a one week residency on site near Kampala from August 17-21 and will support the cohort from home in BC until early December.
An added blessing is that our daughter Liesel has joined the program and will be facilitating the course Strategic Leadership at the same time with the same cohort. Following the residency Liesel and I will take a week to explore some of Uganda with it’s exotic wildlife. I would say this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. In case you are wondering, yes, my wife Debbie is okay with us going without her.
You may or may not know that after serving as pastor in various places over the years, I retired 4 years ago in Salmon Arm, BC. My wife Debbie is continuing to work part-time for now. Over the past 4 years I have had the opportunity to get more involved in the local community – in places like the local theater (having acted in 2 shows).
The invitation
I invite you to pray for me as I journey with the students this year. All you need to do is to email me letting me know you want to receive the email updates.
What to expect?
Monthly prayer updates! I’m sure there will be stories and pictures and, of course, opportunities to invite God to intervene in profound and lasting ways through your prayer.
